The Government of Castilla-La Mancha launches the first Feature Films and Television Series Production Contest with the aim of supporting audiovisual projects that contribute to the promotion of tourism in the region, through the dissemination of emblematic locations and locations around the regional territory.

The call, which is carried out through the Ministry of Economy, Business and Employment, is endowed with 300,000 euros to be distributed among three projects and those interested have until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 30 to participate. The Impulsa Foundation has the contest rules available online.

The contest is intended for natural or legal persons who are owners of independent production companies whose object is cinematographic or audiovisual activity, and who are holders of the rights to the projects submitted to the call. Candidates must accredit at least three cinematographic or audiovisual productions, either individually or in co-production, and guarantee the economic viability of the project.

In total, three prizes of 100,000 euros each are established that will be paid to the winners on the first day of filming of the works, which should start in 2021. The projects must promote knowledge of Castilla-La Mancha through their locations, such as natural, urban landscapes or its cultural heritage, enhancing its national and international projection.

With this call promoted by the General Directorate of Tourism, Commerce and Crafts through the Film Commission, the Minister of Economy, Business and Employment, Patricia Franco, has assured that "we intend to enhance tourist attraction for the benefit of the region, through of the partial sponsorship of audiovisual productions such as series or feature films, in addition to promoting the creation of this type of content in Castilla-La Mancha, as part of its consideration as an economic vector that generates verifiable wealth and that has important repercussions in the tourism field " .

The Ministry, through the Castilla-La Mancha Film Commission, has been in direct contact with production companies and companies in the audiovisual sector and has participated in multiple national and international specialized markets in recent years to make the region known as a filming set.
